SQPANEL® Delivers Success at -70°C for Chemo Biopharmaceutical Vaccine Storage

    April 23, 2025

Keeping Vaccines Safe at Ultra-Cold Temperatures

Companies working on new medicines often need to store materials at very, very cold temperatures. Chemo Biopharmaceutical, a company developing important vaccines, needed a special storage facility. It had to stay exactly at -70 degrees Celsius (-94 degrees Fahrenheit) – colder than an Antarctic winter! Keeping this temperature steady is vital to protect the vaccines.

Chemo Biopharmaceutical chose SQPANEL® to build the special insulated walls and ceilings for this important project. SQPANEL® is part of Nantong Sifang Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd.

A Tough Job: The Challenges of Building for -70°C

Making a room stay reliably at -70°C isn’t easy. Here’s what made the Chemo Biopharmaceutical project tricky:

  • Extreme Cold: Even tiny gaps or weak spots in the insulation could cause big problems at such low temperatures. The building had to be perfectly sealed to prevent heat leaks.
  • Large Size: The storage area was big (around 33 meters by 28 meters, or 108 ft x 92 ft), so the quality had to be perfect everywhere.
  • Strict Rules: Medicine companies have very strict rules (called GMP rules). The storage room had to meet these rules for safety and cleanliness. Checking that the temperature was right everywhere inside was also a must.
  • Fast Timeline: Like many important projects, this one needed to be finished quickly but also perfectly.

SQPANEL®’s Smart Solution for Ultra-Low Temperature Storage

SQPANEL®didn’t just sell panels; they provided a complete solution designed for the job:

  • Specialized PIR Panels: SQPANEL® used their “(Ruixue)” series PIR insulation panels. PIR is a type of high-performance insulation foam. Based on careful planning, they used 250mm (about 10 inches) thick panels for the walls and ceiling. These thick panels stop heat extremely well. They lock together tightly with special multi-groove joints to prevent any air leaks.
  • Clean and Tough Surfaces: The inside surfaces of the panels had a special PVDF coating. This coating is tough, easy to clean, and meets the strict rules for medicine facilities.
  • Ultra-Low Temp Doors: SQPANEL® also supplied special insulated doors built for -70°C. These doors seal tightly and have gentle heaters built into the frame to stop ice from forming, making them easy to open and close safely.
  • Strong Support Structure: SQPANEL® used its own C/Z purlins – strong, precisely made metal beams – to support the panels. Good support helps keep everything perfectly aligned, which is extra important in extreme cold.
  • Helpful Advice & Design Support: SQPANEL® experts gave advice during the planning and building stages, offering valuable turnkey project solution insights.

Expert Know-How Made the Difference

Getting a -70°C room right takes special knowledge. Here’s how SQPANEL®’s team helped:

  • Smart Planning: SQPANEL® experts helped Chemo Biopharmaceutical figure out the best way to build the room. They gave advice on how to prevent heat leaks, especially where walls meet the floor or ceiling, and how to seal everything perfectly for ultra-low temperature performance.
  • Top-Quality Manufacturing: Panels for this project got extra quality checks. SQPANEL® made sure the PIR insulation foam had the right density and structure to work perfectly at -70°C for a long time. They made sure every panel was exactly the right size.
  • Building Support: SQPANEL® provided special instructions and had experts help the builders on-site. They made sure the panels were joined and sealed exactly right for the ultra-cold conditions.

Working Together Smoothly Towards Success

Even though it was a complex job, building the facility went smoothly. SQPANEL® worked closely with Chemo Biopharmaceutical and the company installing the cooling machines. Good teamwork helped solve problems quickly and kept the project moving.

Great Results: Cold, Reliable, and Happy Client

The Chemo Biopharmaceutical vaccine storage facility is a big success:

  • Perfect Temperature: The room holds steady at -70°C, keeping the vaccines safe and sound – a crucial outcome for vaccine cold storage applications.
  • Passed Strict Tests: Because the room was built so well withSQPANEL® products, it easily passed all the strict safety and temperature tests required for pharmaceuticals (GMP validation).
  • Saved Energy: The excellent insulation means the cooling machines don’t have to work as hard, which saves Chemo Biopharmaceutical money on energy bills compared to other potential solutions.
  • Very Satisfied Customer: Chemo Biopharmaceutical was very happy with SQPANEL®’s work and the final result. They’ve even recommended SQPANEL® to other companies, showing their trust in SQPANEL®’s quality and leading to more successful projects featured in our Case Studies.

Conclusion

The Chemo Biopharmaceutical -70°C project clearly shows SQPANEL®’s ability to handle even the most extreme cold storage challenges. Success in such demanding environments comes from combining the right elements: advanced PIR panel technology, high-quality manufacturing, deep expert knowledge, and strong teamwork.
